Noisia are working together again. Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger have confirmed a return to the project, with their first show since the end of the farewell tour set for 4 December 2026 at Melkweg in Amsterdam. A second date on 5 December has since been added.

The announcement is significant for a group whose precision, restless experimentation and sound design helped shape the language of modern drum & bass. But this is not being framed as a simple return to an old touring cycle. In the trio’s official announcement, Noisia describe working together again on new terms, with what comes next emerging through the process.

From the farewell to a new chapter

Noisia announced plans to end the project in 2019. Pandemic disruption stretched their farewell period, which concluded with a final show at Lowlands in August 2022. The album Closer arrived that same year.

Since then, each member has continued his own creative path. Their return now carries a different energy: a chance to bring three perspectives back into one room, and then test that shared work in front of an audience.

Two nights at Melkweg

The first performance is scheduled for Friday 4 December. After demand for the show, Noisia announced an additional Melkweg date for Saturday 5 December. The Amsterdam venue has a place in their live history, including the final local edition of the Noisia Invites series during their farewell run.

The shows are expected to bring established material together with music the trio have been developing. There is no confirmed release date for new tracks. For now, the stage appears to be part of the creative process rather than the end of it.

Why this return matters

Noisia’s influence reaches far beyond one corner of drum & bass. Their catalogue moved between club music, experimental electronics and audiovisual work, while their meticulous approach to production gave countless artists a new reference point for what electronic sound could do.

That history makes the reunion exciting. The more interesting question is what the trio will make with it now. Bass Nexus will be watching for the music itself: how these new ideas translate to a live room, and what eventually finds its way into a release.
